In an exciting development for China's cruise tourism industry,
Carnival Corporation's Chinese joint venture, CSSC Carnival Cruise
Shipping, recently unveiled the name of the country's first domestically
built large cruise ship – Adora Magic City.
Operating under the Adora Cruises brand, Adora Magic City will
primarily serve international routes to Japan and Southeast Asia, with
roundtrip departures from Shanghai as its homeport. CSSC states that the
Adora Magic City is on track for delivery by the end of 2023.
Adora Magic City is set to offer an array of amenities and features
meant to elevate the cruising experience for passengers. From exploring
the world's largest tax-free shop on a cruise vessel to enjoying
seamless 5G internet connectivity, guests will have access to an
impressive range of options. The ship will also entertain passengers
with captivating musical performances and engaging talk shows, ensuring a
memorable journey filled with entertainment and relaxation.
Measuring 323.6 metres in length with a maximum capacity of 5,246
passengers, Adora Magic City provides ample space for guests to relax
and enjoy the various onboard activities and amenities. The spacious
cabins and public areas are designed with passenger comfort and
convenience in mind, ensuring a delightful experience throughout the
voyage.
Adora Magic City also aims to create a unique and immersive cruise
experience that seamlessly blends Eastern and Western cultures. As
Shanghai serves as its homeport during its inaugural season, the vessel
will offer passengers the opportunity to embark on voyages that showcase
the best of both worlds.
The ship's partnerships with China Duty Free Group and Mahua FunAge
bring even more excitement to the cruising experience. The Adora
Shopping Center, touted as the largest shopping centre at sea, will
provide passengers with a larger-than-life retail experience, featuring
renowned designer brands, fine watches and jewellery, high fashion,
beauty and fragrance, and unique Chinese products.
Additionally, the first live comedy theatre at sea, in collaboration
with Mahua FunAge, promises to keep passengers entertained with comedy
performances. Furthermore, Selection International Entertainment will
present a captivating song and dance spectacle, "Marco Polo: An
Enchanted Love Tale," adding to the onboard entertainment options.
Adora Magic City will set a new standard for digital communication in
the cruise industry as the world's first cruise ship with 5G mobile
broadband connectivity. The ship's partnership with China Telecom
ensures advanced wireless communication technology and a Wi-Fi6 and
mobile 5G network, providing passengers with a seamless digital
experience comparable to that on land.
