SINGAPORE – Another major travel show has been postponed – this time it’s the inaugural edition of IBTM Asia Pacific, the MICE show being held in Singapore.
Reed Travel Exhibitions has moved the event to April 13-14, 2021, citing for the switch “latest advice from our partners regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), and as a result of in-depth discussions with our customers and hosted buyers from the region and globally, whose welfare is our number one priority”.
This year’s event was due to take place May 18-20.
Shane Hannam, portfolio director, IBTM Events, said, “We are committed to Singapore as a host city and look forward to returning to the region very soon to meet with as many customers and partners as possible.”
Dr Edward Koh, executive director, conventions, meetings and incentive travel, Singapore Tourism Board, said STB supported Reed’s decision to reschedule the show, which “remains a key highlight in Singapore’s event calendar”.
Reed Travel Exhibitions has also confirmed that its Singapore-based luxury travel event, ILTM Asia Pacific, due to take place in May, will now take place from May 31 to June 3, 2021.
This week Messe Berlin postponed ITB China scheduled for Shanghai World Expo from May 13-15.
