The Governor’s ruling was sent to all ministerial departments, non-government agencies, the foreign consulates, institutions, private corporations and event organisers.
Bali has become an increasingly popular destination for MICE business, topped by 2018’s annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and The World Bank that attracted more than 30,000 international participants.
Along with the requirement for Balinese traditional dress be worn in hosting international and national conferences held in Bali, Koster has ruled that Balinese script be given priority over English on main stage backdrops.
Koster wants members of organising committees to wear Balinese traditional dress at conference opening ceremonies, while other participants should wear Balinese traditional dress or native costumes from their respective home regions.
