The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has announced that Ow Yin-Mei Melissa will succeed Keith Tan as the new chief executive from 1 June 2023.

No stranger to STB, Ow held several positions at the Board, including heading the Experience Development Group and the Corporate Group as the deputy chief executive from 2015 to 2020. During her time, she led her teams to put Singapore on the world map for hosting premier events and attracting major tourism investments.

Ow was seconded to the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) in June 2020. As executive vice president for customer experience in the Marketing & Investment Facilitation Group, she played a key role in transforming EDB’s B2B sales and marketing model, while driving Singapore’s business brand and the organisation’s marketing and communications in key markets.

Tan, who will step down on 31 May 2023 after more than four years as STB’s chief executive, has grown Singapore’s stature as a vibrant MICE and leisure destination during his tenure. He also led STB in anchoring world-class events in Singapore, and championed sustainability and wellness as key strategies. When the pandemic hit and international borders were closed, Tan led the tourism sector to support the fight against Covid-19, and led subsequent efforts to safely reopen the tourism sector.
