Velocity Ventures, a venture capital firm with a focus on Southeast Asia’s travel and hospitality sectors, has introduced the Corporate Partners Program (CPP) to connect established companies with innovative startups.

What the programme offers

The CPP addresses key challenges and priorities in the industry, such as labour shortages, digitalisation, sustainability, demand forecasting, technology options, and evolving distribution models. Through the programme, travel companies can gain access to a diverse range of startups offering innovative solutions and opportunities for operational efficiency.

The programme aims to foster collaboration and innovation by providing access to a network of startups and opportunities for joint investments.

The CPP focuses on five areas:

  1. Food & beverage
  2. Travel experiences
  3. Accommodation
  4. Transportation/Mobility
  5. Travel services

Companies can choose from three subscription levels (Lite, Core, and Pro) to access a range of benefits. These include access to startup solutions, insights into products and viability, the ability to compare different startup solutions, and participation in tailored events and reports on innovation trends.

By engaging with startups through the CPP, companies can drive innovation, bring about cultural change, and explore potential acquisitions. The programme also offers the option to establish an outsourced Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) unit, allowing companies to make investment decisions while leveraging the expertise of Velocity Ventures.

Proven track record

Velocity Ventures has a successful track record of supporting startups in the travel and hospitality industry, such as Aigens, Carbon Click, Food Market Hub, Zuzu Hospitality, and ZYTLYN. These startups have collectively achieved a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of US$2.5 billion, with significant year-over-year growth.

Notable corporate partners already involved in the CPP include Etihad Airways, Lufthansa Innovation Hub, Goldbell Group, The Lo & Behold Group, Old Chang Kee, RB Capital, Global Hotel Alliance, and Klook.

Velocity Ventures also collaborates closely with renowned accelerators like Singapore Tourism Accelerator, Korean Tourism Office, and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, reviewing hundreds of travel-tech startups each year.
