The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka has opened its doors atop the 111m main tower of Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City, the tallest lifestyle complex in the city's downtown on the Kyushu island in Southern Japan.

Occupying the nine topmost floors in a 25-storey glass tower, The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka's interior design takes inspiration from Fukuoka's "Hakata-ori" traditional yarn-dyed silk and kimono weaving craft, with folding screens, sculptures, paintings, and woven textiles by local artisans intermingled into the overall design narrative.

Between the 19th to 23rd floors are the hotel’s 167 generously sized guestrooms and suites starting from 50 square metres, offering views of either the Fukuoka skyline, Ohori Park, or the Hakata Bay. The 132sqm Presidential Suite and the 188sqm Ritz-Carlton Suite each feature a dining room and kitchen for private meals.

Guests staying in club and suite categories will enjoy the private sanctuary in The Ritz-Carlton Club on the 24th floor, where live jazz performances are held every Saturday night and a dedicated concierge service ensures personalised care.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa, also located on the 24th floor, comes with indoor swimming pool overlooking the bay, a gymnasium, and both single and double private rooms for treatments using local ingredients and featuring products from ESPA.

The hotel's four restaurants and two bars reflect the vibrant food culture of Fukuoka. Viridis features farm-to-sky Western cuisine sourced from sustainably produced local ingredients; Genjyu is a showcase of Japan's kaiseki, sushi, and teppanyaki culinary traditions; while Diva serves light meals, desserts and afternoon tea showcasing the celebrated green teas of Kyushu. For drinks, there’s the Lobby Lounge & Bar as well as Bay, which offers original cocktails along with chargrilled dishes and tapas over views of the Hakata Bay.

On the third floor are the 108sqm Ritz-Carlton Studio and 336sqm Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, which can be flexibly configured to accommodate breakout sessions, board meetings, and other gatherings, and the Chapel for wedding ceremonies.

The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka is adjacent to Tenjin, the trendy heart of the city filled with shops, bars, cafés, and nightlife. The area is 15 minutes by car or public transportation to Hakata Station, Hakata Port or Fukuoka Airport, which links the city to Tokyo.
