Tall Ship Royal Albatross, known for its dog cruise sailings,
is now launching its first-ever cat cruise. The Singapore-based luxury
tall ship will offer a Sunset Dinner Cruise designed for cat owners and
their feline friends.
After conducting trials and consulting with experts and authorities,
the Royal Albatross has ensured the safety and welfare of cats onboard.
The Cat Cruise aims to create a bonding experience for families and
their pets while emphasising responsible pet ownership.
Cats will have access to personal cabins with sea views, a dedicated
play area called the "Pussy Cat Lounge", and cat-themed entertainment.
The focus will be on keeping the cats relaxed and stimulated while their
owners enjoy a delicious four-course meal.
To cater to their feeding routines, cats will not be fed onboard but
will receive a gourmet cat dinner from PetCubes to enjoy at home. The
Royal Albatross has partnered with cat welfare organisations to educate
guests about responsible cat ownership and will have donation boxes
onboard for local cat charities.
Ashlynn Loo, director, attractions, entertainment and tourism concept
development, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) expressed excitement about
the innovative product, calling it heartening to, “see how local tourism
businesses are reinventing themselves with innovative products to
expand their appeal and offerings to different target audiences, as well
as add diversity to our tourism landscape”.
The inaugural Cat Cruise will take place on International Cat Day, 8 August, and will continue on selected Tuesdays every month.
