While IndiGo, which calls itself India's leading airline, was
announcing new flights to Singapore and Bangkok this week, budget
carrier Go First was going nowhere after filing for voluntary
insolvency.
Go First has suspended operations and cited for its financial
problems an ongoing dispute with engine maker Pratt & Whitney over
its grounded Airbus A320neo fleet.
The story is brighter for IndiGo which is linking Bhubaneswar, known
as "The Temple City of India," with Singapore and Bangkok from 3 June.
Bhubaneswar is also a major industrial city in Orissa, which is working to establish a reputation for medical tourism.
Twice weekly Singapore to Bhubaneswar return flights will operate on
Tuesday and Saturday; twice weekly Bangkok to Bhubaneswar return flights
will operate Tuesday/Saturday and Wednesday/Sunday.
