Hurtigruten Expeditions has announced key developments aimed at expanding its expedition business and reinforcing its position in the adventure travel sector with a series of new appointments and the establishment of a regional sales office in Shanghai.

The company has appointed Alex Delamere-White as the chief commercial officer. Boasting an extensive background in travel, leisure, and hospitality, Delamere-White joins the Hurtigruten Expeditions Executive Leadership Team. His previous experience includes spearheading sales and marketing teams, e-commerce, and loyalty programmes for renowned cruise brands such as P&O Cruises, Cunard, and Princess Cruises. Most recently, he held the position of chief commercial officer at McCarthy Stone, a prominent property developer.

Based in the London office, Alex Delamere-White will assume interim leadership of the team, which has been further reinforced by the appointment of Nathaniel Sherborne as vice president of sales and marketing for the UK and Nordics.

This expansion extends to the Asia Pacific region, with the addition of four new team members serving Greater China. Damian Perry, APAC Managing Director, will lead the team, with Joe Zoe appointed as China sales director responsible for Greater China (Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong). The sales team will also include Sabrina (Hui) Ju, Nora (Junru) Huang, Yolan (Yan) Wang, and Belle (Sijia) Liu. These strategic moves highlight Hurtigruten Expeditions' commitment to establishing a physical presence in the rapidly growing travel market of Greater China.

“Bringing this depth of industry talent into our global, commercial team at a time when we are seeing incredible interest in our expedition products, will continue to strengthen our position,” said Daniel Skjeldam, CEO, Hurtigruten Group.
